Scripture verses in both the Old and New Testament reveal God’s love for His people—His love for you and me. Old Testament Scriptures about God’s Love

#1: Psalm 136:1

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, His love endures forever. 

#2: Deuteronomy 31:8

The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.

#3: Isaiah 54:10

Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.

#4: Jeremiah 31:3

The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.

#5: Deuteronomy 7:9

Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; He is the faithful God, keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commandments.

#6: Psalm 103:11-13

Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!

The Lord is righteous in all His ways and loving toward all He has made. The Lord is near to all who call on Him; He hears their cry and saves them.

New Testament Scriptures about God’s Love

#11: John 3:16

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.

#12: Ephesians 5:1-2

Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. 

#13: Romans 8:38-39

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation,  will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

#14: 1 Timothy 1:14

The grace of the Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.

#15: Romans 5:8

But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

#16: John 15:13

Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

#17: Ephesians 3:4-5

For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight. In love He predestined us to be adopted as His sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will. 

#18: 1 John 4:9-10

This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

#19: Titus 3:4-5

But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!
