We are Born as Sinners

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

Romans 3:23

The Bible tells us that we are all born with a sinful nature—the desire to rebel against God and His laws—and the penalty for breaking God’s laws is separation from God and eternal death.

Jesus Died to Save Us

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16

God loved us even as sinners and knew we needed a savior. He sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross to take our penalty for sinning against Him. Jesus paid the price for our past, present, and future sins. In short, Jesus offers us the opportunity to restore our relationship with God and avoid eternal death. This free gift of eternal life is available through only by the grace of Jesus. It cannot be earned.

What the Cross Means for You Personally

  • Because Jesus died on the cross, your sins are forgiven
  • Because of Jesus’s sacrifice, you can have a new identity
  • Because of the power of the cross, your relationship with God is restored
  • Because of Jesus’s love, you have eternal life

We Can Choose to Follow Him

“That everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”

John 3:15-17

When Jesus died for us, He created an opportunity for us to have a restored relationship with God. We can now come to God freely and choose to be in a relationship with Him.

Now, Have You Met Jesus?
