Thank you, Lord, that I was Created Purposefully

God created us purposefully. Sometimes it’s hard to hold on to this truth. Yet, despite the events surrounding our birth, the setbacks we’ve endured, or the mistakes that we’ve made, we were created thoughtfully, lovingly, and intentionally. In Psalm 139:14, we learn that we are fearfully and wonderfully made by God. He knows the hairs on our head (Luke 12:7). He sees our every struggle (Psalm 56:8). And he has shaped not just our bodies and minds, but the events that have occurred in our lives so that we could be who we’ve become. Our birth, talents, and even our calling in life have been carefully curated by our loving creator.

This week, we’ll thank God that we were created purposefully. We’ll also pray for God to help us pursue our calling.

Prayer of the Week: Thank God who created us purposefully and ask Him to guide us to our calling.

Dear Father, I thank you for creating me thoughtfully, lovingly, and intentionally. I am not an accident or a mistake but someone who is fearfully and wonderfully made. Father, help me to cling to this truth when setbacks and trials challenge my faith. Please also help me to walk in the calling you’ve created for me.

In Psalm 144:1, King David declared that you trained his hands for warfare. Lord, I pray that you would guide me, like David, to my purpose. Train me to honor your name by fulfilling the purpose you have for me. Father, I submit my life to you. I thank you that you created me purposefully, and I ask for you to reveal my calling. Lord, help me to walk in obedience to the plans you have for my life. I thank you for creating me and for the clarity you will provide regarding my calling. In Jesus name, amen!
