God, Please Help Me Submit to Your Purpose for My Life

Every single person has a purpose. Whether we choose to acknowledge it or not, God created each and every one of us uniquely, and He has a plan for our lives. According to Ephesians 2:10, “we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” This Bible verse confirms that God has a purpose for us. We were not created thoughtlessly. We were not designed to wander aimlessly through life. Instead, we have a purpose. This truth brings us to an important question: do you know what God has called you to do?

For years, I struggled with this question. I knew God had a plan for me, but I couldn’t figure out His calling for my life. This struggle ended when I realized that I needed to submit my entire life to Him. I needed to submit my career, my goals, my finances, and my desire for marriage to Him.

Often times we struggle to find God’s purpose for us because we struggle with submitting to Him. We want to know where God is taking us before saying “yes” to Him. We want promises of future success or happiness before we commit ourselves to Him. Instead, God desires us to follow Him in faith. We are asked to trust Him.

Prayer of the Week: Asking God to help us submit to His purpose for us.

Dear Lord, I thank you that you have a plan for my life. I thank you that you are a good God. You are omniscient, powerful, and loving. Father God, I ask that you help me to submit to your purpose for me. Please remove the fears that are keeping me from submitting fully to you. I pray for the Holy Spirit to reveal the areas in my life that are not submitted to you.

Father, please help me to find your purpose for my life. If the time is not right for me to know my full calling, then I pray that you would reveal to me what you are calling me to do right now. Help me to be a faithful steward over my entire life. Lord, I give everything I am to you. I thank you for your goodness and love towards me. Lastly, I thank you for the opportunity to do something amazing for you in your name. In Jesus name I pray, amen!
