God Is Writing Your Story

“God brought them out of Egypt; they have the strength of a wild ox. They devour hostile nations and break their bones in pieces; with their arrows they pierce them. Like a lion they crouch and lie down, like a lioness—who dares to rouse them. May those who bless you be blessed and those who curse you be cursed!”

Numbers 24:8-9

God is writing your story. No one else has the power to change or destroy it. During difficult times, it may be hard to believe this truth, but that doesn’t make it any less true. God is writing our story.

God was Writing Israel’s Story

In the book of Numbers, we see an example of God’s divine protection over His people and their future. The King of Moab decides to curse the people of Israel because he is afraid of them. They were freed from Egypt by Moses and making their way through the wilderness. Any nation that challenged them lost in battle. God had instructed the Israelites not to harm the Moabites, but their king didn’t know that. In fear, he contacted a diviner, or prophet, to curse the Israelites.

Balaam, the diviner, tried to curse them three times. Each time, he failed. Numbers 24:5 says, “how beautiful are your tents, Jacob, your dwelling places, Israel!” This enemy of Israel couldn’t help but bless the Israelites instead of cursing them because God wouldn’t allow him to speak a word against them. God was writing their story, and no one could convince Him to alter the blessed future He planned for His people.

God is Writing Your Story, Too!

Just like the people of Israel, God is writing your story and providing His protection over you from those who want to destroy it. God has prepared a beautiful future for all of His people, including you. Psalm 139:16 says, “Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” God loves you and has a plan for your life. This doesn’t mean that you won’t face challenges. However, it does mean that God will walk beside you, protect you, and provide the grace needed for you to pursue your life’s purpose

Just like the Israelites, we may have to fight against those who refuse to acknowledge God’s plans for us. However, God has already secured our victory. Aren’t you glad God is writing your story? Let’s turn to Him in prayer and thank Him for His divine protection and purpose in our lives.

Let’s Pray for God’s Direction and Protection Over the Future

Father, we believe and trust your Word which says that all things work for the good of those who love you. Strengthen our faith and encourage us so that we can find victory during difficult times. We thank you that we are blessed and have the opportunity to do life with you! In Jesus name, amen!
