Father, Help Me to Find Peace & Joy in Your Truth
Have you ever felt a sense of peace and joy while reading the Bible because God revealed a truth that spoke directly to the circumstances in your life? I recently had one of those “God” moments. While reading the book of Exodus, God spoke into my heart to remind me of His goodness and His power to fulfill His promises, even if it means redeeming an impossible situation. Moments like that remind me that the Word of God is life giving, true, and a necessary part of walking in faith.
As we pray, let’s ask God to help us find peace and joy as we study His truths in the Bible.
Prayer of the Week: Asking God to Bless Us with Peace and Joy as We Read the Bible
Father, your Word is life itself. I need to hear from you. Help me to see the truth in your Word. Enliven me to your Spirit so that He will help me interpret the Bible. Your Word is like manna from heaven. It nourishes me with truth, reminds me of your love, and encourages me to live righteously. Help me to always find fulfillment in your Word. Show me how I can apply your Word to my life. Psalm 119:105 says “Your Word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” Father, please brighten every dark corner of my life with your Word. Give me the wisdom I need to make right decisions and walk uprightly for you. Change my heart so that I hunger for your truth and find peace and joy in living in obedience to the Bible.
Lord, I thank you that you will meet me in the early morning or late night as I study your truth. Help me to find evidence of your love, grace, and goodness each time I open the Bible. May your Word be a resting place full of peace and joy because I delight in your truth. In Jesus name I pray. Amen!
